Frederick the 16th was born on Batila the 30th in the year 2300. He was born to Frederick the 15th and Marie Alexandra LaFontaine. During his fifth year of life, his family and a large entourage toured the Pelini Isles and the Western Duchies as a symbol of goodwill. This trip was the first time that the young boy had left the safety of the palace, and left him yearning to learn more of the outside world.
On his 14th birthday his parents threw an extravagant party in his honor. Every nobleman and noblewoman who had any political aspirations was there. Minor Barons mixed with Counts and Dukes, and everyone enjoyed the sumptuous feast and entertainment.
During the party the young man met and fell in love with Norastra Guisano, a young daughter of a poor Baron. They continued their romance through letters of love sent by trusted messengers. One day the letters stopped arriving to the young prince. In a panic he traveled with a unit of 30 Imperial soldiers to their keep, only to find it decimated and burnt into the ground. The grounds surrounding the keep were filled with the bodies of humans, vartith and legyre. In a blind rage he traveled to the nearest village populated by the upstart creatures and killed every last man, woman, and child there.
On his return home he stopped at several of his count's manors. One of these, Count Reinstag had learned of his father's passing and sensed an opportunity. He arranged the prince to "insult his honor" and arranged a duel to restore it. His champion was a big ugly brute of a 15th level warrior. His soldiers had remained at the burnt remnants of his love's keep, and were unable to assist him in his fight. Minutes before the duel began, or execution as Reinstag intended, the young prince met a goblin by the name of Gwenthen. Gwenthen was Count Reinstag's court magician, but could no longer stomach his master's schemes. Gwenthen acted as the young prince's champion and proceeded to humiliate and bathe his opponent in flames. The young grateful prince had the presence of mind to make Gwenthen his new High Wizard.
Returning home to the palace, he learned that his father had passed away while he was gone. His family's curse of the genetic Blood Malady had struck again. Slumping into despair, the young Emperor began to look for any escape from the pain. Sex, alcohols, and foreign spices all became part of his daily regimen. His advisors began to pick up the slack for their young Emperor, feeling great sorrow but unable to intercede. His mother attempted several times to no avail. The young Emperor did however treble her guard at all times, making her a virtual prisoner. As the years passed his confidence began to return and while he still enjoyed every ounce of his pleasures, he began to become more extroverted and overconfident. His pleasures became darker and more encompassing.
Recently he has begun to climb from his morass of pain as he becomes more jaded with the pleasures of the flesh. He has begun to reclaim more and more military duties, as he begins to plan the expansion of his northern borders into the territory of the vartith and legyre. His hatred and disgust with the two races have increased the racism and intolerance all over the Empire in the past few years.
